Eyemart began with vision — that of a young immigrant from Istanbul, Turkey, to run his own business, despite limited English skills and low funding. Owner Isak Sivi worked his way through the back and front end of the optical business, before opening his own location at Methodist Medical Plaza in 1977. Over the years, Eyemart has grown into more locations, enabling us to provide more options to a larger number of customers in Central Iowa.

In 2006, Isak’s daughter, Rachel Sivi, moved back to Iowa after many years away in Seattle, WA. She quickly found her place in the business and focused on rebranding Eyemart, giving the brand the opportunity to continue growing and thriving. Today, Isak and Rachel oversee the operations and management of the business, ensuring the value and excellence that their customers expect to receive.

Our philosophy is to provide you with quality eyeglasses at a practical price. Just like a designer clothing outlet, Eyemart has a large selection of unique and fashion-forward closeout frames to choose from — many for around half the cost that you’d find them elsewhere. In the past year alone, we have introduced a new line of styles that are current with the fashion eyewear industry, yet conscious of our patients’ needs for lower costs.
